Achieving Health and Beauty with Modern Dentistry
Veneers are thin shells, often composed of acrylic resin or porcelain, that are custom-made to cover teeth permanently. They offer a versatile way to create bright, straight smiles by repairing chipped and gapped teeth.
How do veneers work? First, a fractional amount of enamel is removed from affected teeth (often the six upper front teeth). An impression is then taken, which becomes a model for fabricating the veneers? Within two weeks, the veneers return from the lab, ready to be cemented directly to teeth. Veneers look natural, are stain resistant and may even help dark teeth appear lighter. The procedure for dental veneers requires careful planning and collaboration
Wishing For Whiter Teeth?
As healthy smiles become more popular, the number of tooth-whitening products and treatment has grown! In general, there are two kinds of tooth whiteners?
Surface Whiteners, such as "whitening toothpastes" or strips contain chemical or fine abrasives that remove surface stains from the tooth enamel, but do not alter enamel color.
Bleaching solution, by contrast, penetrates the tooth enamel. Bleaching solution typically contains carbamide peroxide, bleaches break down the chemical compounds of stains. Lasting for an hour, a "chairside" bleaching at your dentist's usually involves a solution activated by high-intensity light. At-home bleaching treatment will require custom-fitted trays, worn over the course of 1-2 weeks for 3 - 15 minutes daily.
Bleaching can make a tremendous difference in your smile.
We fix chipped, cracked, & broken teeth!
Dental bonding is an ideal procedure for small cosmetic enhancement, such as:
- Making chipped or cracked teeth look whole;
- Closing spaces between teeth; and
- Changing tooth shape.
A bonding procedure can be completed in one hour or less per tooth, throughout
these steps.
- First, a tooth is roughened and a bonding liquid is applied, so that a plastic paste called composite resin can adhere to the tooth.
- Next, the composite resin is applied, contoured and polished to the desired shape.
- The resin is later cured with a bright light.
Bonding provides a quick, painless and less expensive alternative to veneers and crowns.
However, bonding materials may not be as resilient to chipping and stains, and therefore may need to be touched-up or replaced after three to ten years.
